How much does it rain in Mobile Alabama? Are you moving to Mobile, Alabama? Wait until you hear this! In this video, I answer the most common questions I get from buyers looking to move to Mobile Alabama! I’ve heard it all. From hurricanes to mosquitos, people want details. Before making the big move, people want to know exactly what they are getting into. Is it hot, yes! But we don’t get snow.
There are definitely some pros and cons to living in Mobile Alabama, but in this video, I wanted to answer several of the questions I get from people who are moving here from all over the country. On this channel, I try and fill you in on all of the things that will help you make your own decision and help you be better prepared, and gain some excitement before your move to Mobile Alabama.
RAIN in Mobile Alabama: It rains a LOT in Mobile Alabama! We are supposedly the rainiest city in the US. Some will debate that, but just come pay us a visit and you will see. Don’t let that scare you away though, we also don’t get any snow!
HURRICANES in Mobile Alabama: We certainly have our share of hurricanes down on the Gulf Coast. I’ve lived through several over my 47 year lifetime, and I’ve only left my home for one or two. The great thing about the people of Mobile Alabama is they are extremely resilient and always come together to support one another. We always come back stronger than before. Do we live in fear of hurricanes? No! We just take it in stride because it’s part of the sacrifices we make to live in such an amazing place!
POLITICS in Mobile Alabama? Mobile Alabama definitely leans conservative at the voting booth. If you’re not a conservative voter, don’t let that scare you away because the people of Mobile are very diverse in their thinking. People may call it southern hospitality, in fact, it could be a number of things, but I am grateful for the people I am surrounded by who always seem to be willing to love on others and accept those who may not agree with what they believe.
TORNADOES in Mobile Alabama: It always shocks me when people ask about the number of tornadoes we get in Mobile. Do we get them, yes, but they are very rare. In fact, I’m always shocked to hear when one has been spotted. Compare that with the mindset of most people in the Midwest, and our number of tornadoes are merely a blip on the radar compared with other places around the US.
MOSQUITOES in Mobile Alabama: Mosquitoes and Mobile Alabama go hand-in-hand. There’s just no way around it. Of course, certain mosquitoes love certain people more than others, but as a general rule, you will be dealing with mosquitoes if you step outside in the summer.
LAND in Mobile Alabama: YES! It’s true! You can buy land relatively cheap in Mobile Alabama. Keep in mind though, you get what you pay for. If you’re looking for unrestricted land in a rule area, then we have several areas that will meet your needs. However, if you’re looking for land that’s cheap but also highly restricted and won’t allow your next-door neighbor to decrease your property value by expressing themselves creatively by decorating their 1981 manufactured home with RV additions off the back porch, then this will be a difficult task.
ALLIGATORS in Mobile Alabama: Are there alligators in Mobile Alabama? Yes, but not in the way you may think. I’ve lived in the suburbs my whole life, and I have never encountered an alligator in close proximity. To my knowledge, the only way you will encounter an alligator is if you are near the water or actively looking for one. So, don’t let that stress you out or keep you from coming to our beautiful Port city.
