Meat Boss, a local family-owned restaurant opened in December 2012 only three days a week. Benny Chinnis, aka the Meat Boss, started the restaurant with a smoker he built for $3000, an incredible work ethic, prayer, faith and family. His first two employees were his wife and his dad! He smoked his meats the way he enjoyed them and used his own recipes for his sauces and sides. Turns out, 10 years later, that’s how thousands of people love smoked meats, too. After countless awards for his meats, sauces and service, Meat Boss Restaurant has become a tradition in Mobile known for its delicious and wide variety of Smoked BBQ and Meats for lunches, dinners, catering, whole meats, gifts and Saturday breakfast.

Meat Boss started with only a couple of meats and sides that now include pulled meats such as butt, brisket and chicken, sliced turkey breast, ham and pork loin as well as ribs, half chickens, wings and his famous ½ pound brisket burger made with in-house ground brisket! Meat Boss meats are made-to-order for lunch and dinner on your favorite base including a variety of buttered and toasted breads, buttered spud, wraps, lettuce, naked or on its newest base, fries! Then, load it up with your favorite toppings and choose from his 5 original sauces, Sweet, Sweet&Spicy, Carolina, Spicy Carolina and White BBQ! Homemade sides can complete the meals with a few unusual extras offered like Rib Candy. On Saturdays, you can even get the meats on biscuits or rolled in a pancake called a Hog in a Blanket!

Since the beginning, Meat Boss has had a heart for supporting local law enforcement, first responders, our region’s Coast Guard, local churches as well as many other local and national non-profit organizations. Getting to know and going above and beyond in serving its customers are the foundations of this restaurant. Mrs. Meat Boss, Chef Leah, and amazing crew work hard to offer delicious BBQ and continue Benny’s legacy of doing it all the “Meat Boss way”!
